Haris Francis and Margot
 

By means of a short introduction, I write from Hungary, although I am British by origin.   

I have come across your website, Friends of Uranium City, and I would like to inform you that my great aunt and her husband were members of your community for a brief period of time. Margot and Francis Haris lived in Uranium City sometime between 1957 and perhaps as long as 1963/4, whereafter they moved on to San Francisco in the US.  Margot passed away in the second half of 2004, aged 93 from old age (she had Alzheimers). Francis passed away from Parkinsons related complications in the first half of 1990.

Francis, according to his marriage certificate to Margot on Dec. 1^st, 1956, was listed as a labourer for a mining contractor (they then lived in the UK in Leeds).  According to Margot’s mother’s final will of 28^th August, 1958, her and Francis address at the time was: Mrs. Margot Haris, Canada, General Delivery Uranium City, Sask. Canada. Margot I believe worked in one of the city’s shops.  They left after Francis leg was hurt in a mining accident and he could no longer work.

I attach a photo of Francis and Margot from 1982, and a picture of Margot in 1973, in case it helps jog any memories within the community. Hopefully now they can be listed on your website.
